Self-contained accommodation

Stargazers offers self contained accommodation in the newly renovated historic New Zealand gold miner's cottage. This contains three cosy bedrooms...one with a queen bed and two with a single bed in each as well as a sitting room and fully equipped kitchen with large fridge freezer, oven and microwave. The bathroom has a walk-in shower and separate toilet. The cottage is set in a large garden with access to a peaceful picnic area adjacent to the stream that runs through the 18 acre property and is only a 3 minute stroll from the dark sky observatory.

NZ $450/NZ $400 (double/single) per night
in the main bedroom on a self-catering basis. Up to 2 additional guests can be accommodated in separate single bed rooms at NZ $175 each per night. 

Conditions: Minimum stay 3 nights; one or two night stays incur a one off surcharge of NZ $250. Not suitable for children under 12 due to high decks, an unfenced stream and open historic gold mine tunnels. Check in is anytime from 3pm and check out is at 10am but contact us if you think you may require late check out.

Facilities/Features

• You will most probably wake to the sight and sounds of a range of New Zealand native and migratory birds enjoying the bush clad hills. In the evening you might just be lucky enough to hear the call of the endangered nocturnal and flightless New Zealand Kiwi. You will almost certainly hear and may even catch a glimpse of the native New Zealand owl, the Morepork. 

• Digital Detox is a feature of the peaceful atmosphere provided at the Cottage with limited cellphone and no internet coverage available.  However, guests needing to keep in touch with family or business colleagues during their stay are welcome to take advantage of the free WiFi and printer provided up at the Observatory Lodge or use the Lodge's landline.

   

Cancellation Policy:

Reservations cancelled within 7 days of arrival date will incur a 50% cancellation fee. This rises to 100% during New Zealand Christmas holiday season (December 25- January 31 inclusive) and New Zealand Easter holiday period.

Smoking Policy:

Smoking is prohibited in all buildings and decks, we are in a high fire hazard area surrounded by New Zealand native bush.
